Sensorimotor insoles

Sensorimotor insoles - also known as proprioceptive insoles - are another specialty of our orthopaedic footwear technology. They support the correction of the foot using the foot's own muscle strength. The aim of treatment is to send control impulses to the receptor system of the foot muscles. In this way, muscle tension, joint position and posture are positively influenced.

The foot as an organ of perception

The foot not only supports our body weight, but is also an organ of perception for our posture. It can perceive even the smallest changes in the ground and sends corresponding impulses to the brain. This is the only way our posture and musculoskeletal system is able to adapt to new requirements. Together with our eyes, which enable our spatial perception, our feet are crucial for safe locomotion.

Areas of application for sensorimotor insoles

Sensorimotor insoles stimulate the fine receptors of our feet and have a targeted effect on muscle tension, which is either intensified or weakened. This relieves the entire musculoskeletal system in the long term and can ideally lead to better posture. The special insoles are used for paralysis and spasticity, as well as for leg, foot and toe misalignments and heel spur or Achilles tendon complaints. Children and adolescents who are still growing benefit particularly from their effect: their muscles and therefore their entire postural and musculoskeletal system are still developing.
