Custom-made shoes for diabetics and rheumatics

Custom-made orthopaedic shoes are usually the last resort when it comes to aids. If insoles and shoe fittings no longer help, they are a suitable way of maintaining the ability to walk. Custom-made products differ depending on the clinical picture:

With diabetic shoes, the focus is on softness. Internal seams and other protrusions are completely avoided in diabetic shoes. This gives the sensitive foot as much space as possible in the shoe without sacrificing a precise fit and appropriate guidance. This is the only way to avoid wounds, prevent relapses and ultimately reduce the risk of amputation.

In orthopaedic rheumatism care, on the other hand, the focus is on relieving pain in order to maintain mobility. Shock-absorbing outsoles and particularly soft footbeds as well as upper materials can already provide relief here.
