Sanders and Sanders

In 1873, brothers Thomas and William founded the company Sanders & Sanders in the tranquil town of Rushden in Northamptonshire. The first few years proved to be difficult and it was not until 1912 that the company moved into a workshop in Spencer Road that was large enough for its 70 employees. The First World War brought full order books due to the high demand for army boots, but demand remained high even after that. Today, Spencer & Spencer is run by the fifth generation and still has its premises in Spencer Road. Every week, 2000 pairs of shoes and boots leave the factory - robust, stylish, made in England.
