The family business Werner from the Palatinate shoe town of Pirmasens has come a long way: from work and hiking shoes in the early days to distinctive apres-ski boots in the 80s to the elegant, very comfortable women's shoes of today. And along the way, the label has realized that sustainability gets you further: for a long time, the label with over 100 years of history has focused on traceable supply chains, animal welfare, fair working conditions, short transport routes and the avoidance of harmful substances. The leather comes from organic cattle that are allowed to graze on pasture on small family farms. It is chrome-free and vegetable-tanned, making it suitable for allergy sufferers and preserving its natural scent. As if to underline its love of nature, Werner also sells its own bee honey in addition to fashionable and comfortable shoes.
