The shoes from the Italian label W6YZ often seem to have an almost artistic feel to their design. And this impression is by no means deceptive, as the Belgian behind the brand, Walter Van Beirendonck, studied art in Antwerp. His fashion creations, which he has been devising since 1983, quickly took off: the designs, which combine ethnic influences, two-dimensional graphic patterns and wild color combinations, have already been worn by U2 and Erasure as stage outfits and can be found in the exhibitions of various art museums.
